Programme Focus:
The programme focuses on the specifics of translation and interpreting activities in legal settings, lays grounds for students’ proficiency in legal terminology, documents drafting and translation, oral and written bilingual communication in the field of jurisprudence, within the framework of pretrial investigation, court proceedings, law enforcement agencies activities, arbitration and litigation issues, international law practices and international courts activities.
Programme advantages:
The programme has a strong interdisciplinary focus. Both lawyers and legal translators and interpreters are engaged in the programme implementation. Possible language combinations include English – Russian/German/French/Spanish/Chinese/Arabic. The second language pair is a student’s choice. Internships are held in the Russian governmental agencies and international organizations.
Graduates’ expertise and career opportunities:
The Master programme is practically oriented. The knowledge gained on completion of the programme allows graduates to apply for the positions of officers and heads of departments in governmental and commercial organizations, dealing with foreign and international legal entities and individuals on the matters of public and municipal administration and law.
