Functional Materials

The postgraduate programs focus mainly on R&D in materials science covering functional materials (materials with special magnetic, electrical, thermal, and biological properties) and methods of their study. Students carry out their research at the departmental laboratories, the Material XRD Research and Diagnostics Center, the International School of Microscopy educational and scientific center, and the research laboratories of permanent magnets and biomedical nanomaterials. In cooperation with Rigaku company, the Chair set up the X-Ray Diffractometry Center featuring a unique range of research equipment.
