The program is intended to prepare experts on R&D as related to innovative high-tech equipment for manufacturing competitive engineering and metallurgical products — that is, designing modern deformation equipment, rolling and special mills, and high-reduction modules; advanced designing of rolling stock elements for Russian Railways (railway wheels and axles), welded and seamless pipes of various purposes, and special products for nuclear and defense industries. Students use the equipment at the laboratories of the Metal Forming Department (MFD) featuring advanced computer-aided design and modeling tools with TESIS expert support, and at industrial companies and leading R&D metallurgical and machine-building companies.
