Far Eastern Federal University is located in eastern Russia. It offers prospective international students more than 400 programmes of different levels; some majors were designed jointly with partner universities.

Far Eastern Federal University traces back to Eastern Institute, the first higher education centre established in Russia’s Far East in 1899. Back then, it specialised in teaching oriental languages (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Mongolian) and training personnel for administrative bodies and trade and industrial organisations. Nowadays, students can learn various professions at FEFU, from geologist to doctor; English medium programmes are available as well. The university provides training to 24,000 students including 3,500 foreign nationals.

FEFU has two principal partners in teaching double degree programmes; the first is University of Maryland University College (USA) located in the state of Maryland.
