When can prospective international students send application documents?
Applications for undergraduate and graduate studies are open till 20 August, 2019. Foundation programmes application deadline is 15 August, 2019. You are strongly advised to get in touch with university representatives in advance over admission details. Create a personal account to write to HSE. The university’s International Office will reply to you within ten days.

What programmes in English are available at HSE?
HSE offers a broad range of fields of study in English such as applied mathematics and physics, Russian area studies, management, economics, history, mathematics etc. HSE has 11 undergraduate English-medium programmes including double degree programmes with University of London (Data Science and Business Analytics, International relations), South Korea’s Kyung Hee University (Economics and Politics in Asia), and University of Rome Tor Vergata (Political Science and World Politics). Do I have to take an English examination for English medium programmes?
English proficiency test is mandatory for certain programmes. You can take the entrance English test at HSE or show an international English language certificate of one of the following standards: IELTS, BEC H, САЕ, CPE, TOEFL iBT.
Are there any special features in admissions 2019?
Beginning from 2019, Higher School of Economics recognises international math and English language exams. This option is available to candidates applying for self-funded places in separate competitive selection for foreign nationals. An applicant can select the best score if they took both the HSE exam and the international exams
Can I take entrance examinations online?
Yes, you can. The test utilises HSE information resources and the Examus proctoring service. Five days before the testing, logins and passwords to access the system are sent to the candidate’s email address as designated in the personal account. The applicant’s computer has to meet the following requirements: modern OS, latest version of Google Chrome, web camera, internet connection at 1 megabit per second.
How much are tuition fees?
Tuition fees depend on the programme and HSE campus location. Graduate tuition fees range from 155,000 rubles ($2,380) a year (for example for the “Philology” programme at HSE campus in Nizhny Novgorod) to 770,000 rubles ($11,850) for an English medium double degree programme with University of London. Students have an opportunity to get a 70 percent discount.
Masters programmes tuition fees range from 140,000 rubles ($2,150) a year (several programmes, HSE campus in Perm) to 450,00 rubles ($6,920) a year (English medium programme “Prototyping Future Cities”). Masters students have an opportunity to get a 50 percent discount.
