More than 25 percent of students take internships at HSE partner universities in Europe. This programme integrates theory and practice and is aimed at training software developers and architects to meet the ever growing needs of the world internet industry. Students are focused on mathematical analysis, discrete mathematics, probability theory etc. while simultaneously studying programming disciplines and doing projects supervised by leading faculty specialists. The main language of instruction is Russian; some courses are read in English. Length of study: four years. Graduates work as software developers and architects at leading Russian and international companies such as Yandex, Kaspersky Lab, Google, Microsoft, Bing etc. as well as at banks’ and government bodies’ IT departments.

This English medium programme is unique in that it is focused on the existing data mining and machine learning technologies while offering a guided study of mathematical models analysis and design, algorithms and data analysis programmes. Lectures are read by teachers of the School of Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence, School of Big Data and Information Retrieval, Joint Department with Yandex and Department of Technologies of Complex Systems Modelling. Length of study: two years. Graduates have such skills as data retrieval, collection, storage, preparation, analysis and interpretation.

Candidates are required to prepare a portfolio and have basic knowledge of mathematics and informatics.

HSE launched this English-taught master’s programme in 2019. It aims to provide comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of modern Russia. It is intended for those who plan to work with Russian companies and seek to understand Russia. The programme combines basic political disciplines and a set of courses highlighting Russian politics, economics business and culture. Length of study: two years.

The programme prepares students for degree level study of economics in English. It provides basic knowledge of economics and finance and develops analytical skills. The course curriculum combines English language training and subject-specific modules. All students who complete this foundation programme are eligible to a HSE degree level programme discount. Length of study: February – August. You can submit your application for the year 2021.

The entrance examinations and the interview are held online; the examination schedule is available on the HSE website.
