Kazan Federal University, founded more than 200 years ago, is one of the oldest in Russia. It offers prospective international students a large range of fields of study, from chemistry to linguistics. Following are KFU’s five most popular programmes.

  1. English-taught master’s programme “Petroleum Engineering”
  2.  
    The programme aims to train high-skilled specialists in oil and gas field development. It provides such competences as determining the best location of oil wells, production monitoring and analysis, development planning, production costs optimisation etc. Length of study: two years. Language of instruction: English. Lectures are read by Russian and international professors.

    Field of study:
    Applied Geology, Mining Engineering, Oil and Gas Business, Geodesy.

    Entrance examinations:
    Programme-specific test in English, test in natural science disciplines, interview in English.

    Tuition fee:
    294,120 rubles a year.

    Degree:
    Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering. 

  3. Russian-taught bachelor’s programme “Russia and its Regions in the Sphere of International Relations”

  4. A four-year programme focused on Russian history, diplomatic theory, international relations, methods of regional studies, modern administration strategy, geography of Russian regions and their socio-political, economic and cultural specifics. It includes the English and Chinese language courses, practice at state-owned organisations and project work.
     
    Field of study:
    Political Sciences and Regional Studies.

    Tuition fee:
    127,680 rubles a year.

    Degree:
    State-recognised bachelor’s degree.
     

  5. Bachelor’s programme “Economics. International Business

  6. A full-time programme with distance learning at the prestigious London School of Economics starting from the second year. Language of instruction: Russian and English. Students get classical education in economics and management, study political and social processes and acquire skills to solve administration problems.

    Field of study:
    Economics and Management.

    Entrance examinations:
    Mathematics, Russian language, social science, interview in English.

    Tuition fee:
    196,140 rubles (KFU), upwards of £1,900 a year (London School of Economics).

    Degree:
    Bachelor’s degree from KFU and British university.
     

  7. English medium master’s programme “Data Science”

  8. A double degree programme offering training at Kazan Federal University in the first year and China’s Shenzhen University in the second. Students are focused on methods of analysis and digital data presentation and processing, do a research project and design an application for gathering, storing and analysing data based on intellectual data analysis and machine learning methods.

    Field of study:
    Computer and Information Sciences.

    Tuition fee:
    $8,000 a year.

    Entrance examinations:
    Field-specific examination, English language.

    Degree:
    Degrees in computer science from Kazan Federal University and Shenzhen University.

  9. Foundation programme

This programme is a stepping stone for international applicants who plan to take a Russian medium degree programme in such fields of study as humanities, economics, natural sciences, engineering and medicine and biology. It includes an intensive course in the Russian language and field-specific disciplines you need to be admitted to the degree programme. Length of study: ten months. Classes begin on 1 September.
 
Tuition fee:
115,200 rubles.

Application deadline:
1 July 2020.

Certificate:
Successful students get standard certificate.
