The programme is focused on silicon-based solar cells, including newest solar module production technology. Students get the knowledge of underlying physical principles and material science aspects of photovoltaics, technology and metrology of solar modules, equipment, design and maintenance of solar power plants. Lectures are ready by LETI professors and visiting teachers from Canada, France, Mexico and Italy. The course is closely integrated with production and diagnostics of real solar modules, which gives it a distinct advantage. Students conduct research and have access to modern manufacturing and metrological equipment. Internship opportunities at a partner university in Germany, France or Finland are available.

The four-year programme is focused on designing and applying hardware and software tools to manage energy conversion processes in power, manufacturing, metallurgical, papermaking and hoisting and transport electrical systems and complexes. Graduates are welcome in electric power engineering, oil and gas industry, metallurgy, instrument engineering, mechanical engineering and other science intensive branches; they work as software engineers, designers and developers of electrical systems and facilities, service engineers for electric drives and software controls, power engineers etc.
