Novosibirsk State University is a classical university focused on training future scientists. Students engage in research throughout their studies.

When can prospective international students apply?

NSU answers enquiries and accepts documents for review all year round. Create a personal account to write to the university. Applications open on 1 February every year. Application dates for NSU undergraduate studies: 20 June - 10 July, masters studies application deadline is 6 August.

What documents do foreign nationals have to submit for undergraduate/graduate studies?

Documents required of bachelor’s/specialist studies applicants:

  1. Secondary education certificate.

  2. Passport.

Documents required of master’s studies applicants:

  1. Bachelor’s degree with the transcript.

  2. Cover letter.

  3. CV.

  4. Passport.

All documents have to be legalised, translated into Russian and notarised.

What programmes in English are available at NSU?

The university offers ten English-taught programmes: one specialist programme (General Medicine), seven masters programmes (Financial Management, Oil and Gas Management, Materials Science, Cryptography, Quantitative Economics, Big Data Analytics, Classics and Philosophy), one PhD programme (Astroparticle Physics) and one residency programme (Dermatovenerology).

Do I have to take an English examination for English medium programmes?

You do not have to take the English exam if you received previous education in English or if you come from a country where English is a state language. We accept any English proficiency certificates from all other applicants.

Can I take entrance examinations online?

You can take online tests for English medium programmes.

How much are tuition fees?

$3,000 - $6,000 a year for non-CIS applicants, 110,000 to 250,000 rubles a year for CIS applicants.
