National Research Tomsk State University, in collaboration with partner universities, offers international applicants joint programmes of different education levels, from undergraduate to PhD.

Founded in 1878, Tomsk State University provides quality education in most sought-after fields; more than 200 programmes are available. TSU cooperates with well-known universities in Europe and Asia. It has double degree programmes with University of London, such as “Business and Management” (BSc) and “Intellectual Analysis of Big Data” (MSc).

Joint programmes with Shenyang Ligong University, China: “Russian Language,” “Chemistry,” “Informatics” and “Financial Economics.” Students are trained at the Chinese university in the first two years and at the TSU during the 3rd and 4th years.  

TSU has partner universities in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. “Eurasian Integration” is a double degree master’s programme with J.Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University, K.Dikambayev Diplomatic Academy of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs and L.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Kazakhstan.

TSU joint master’s degree programmes with European universities: “Physical Methods and Information Technology in Biomedicine” with Maastricht University, Netherlands; “Finance” with University of Coimbra, Portugal; ”Historical and Regional Geology” with Lille 1 University, France; “Inter-Disciplinary Programme in Physics, Mathematics and Informatics with Ecole Polytechnique, France etc.

TSU double degree PhD programmes: graduates are awarded PhD and Russia’s academic degree “Candidate of Sciences”, students work on their thesis alternatively at TSU and partner university under the guidance of two supervisors. These programmes include “Biological Sciences” with University of Zaragoza, Spain; “Philosophy, Ethics and Religious Studies” with Goethe-Institute Frankfurt, Germany and “Mathematics and Mechanics” with University of Rouen, France.

“Mathematical Analysis and Modelling” is one of the most sought-after TSU programmes offered jointly with University of Rouen, France. The programme trains skilled specialists for project activities, info-analytics and research. Graduates work at high-tech companies such as Alcatel, IFP Energies Nouvelles, Continental Automotive France, Michelin, Le Groupe Renault, Le Groupe EDF, «SIAM», «TomskNIPIneft» etc.

Training venue: TSU during the first two years, University of Rouen, 3rd and 4th years. Curriculum covers general and field-specific disciplines, for example industrial mathematics, optimisation methods, supercomputer technology and internship. During the second year, students work on master’s thesis under supervisor guidance. An individual study plan is made for each student. 

To enrol in the programme, candidates have to hold a bachelor’s/specialist degree in mathematics or engineering profession, speak fluent English, and provide a cover letter with references from the previous place of study or work. 

Tuition fee: 154,300 rubles a year for residents of former Soviet republics, 185,200 rubles a year for residents of other countries. Graduates get two master’s degrees: MSc in Fundamental and Applied Mathematics from the University of Rouen and MSc in mathematics from TSU.
