University of Tyumen is located in Siberia. Tyumen is known as Russia’s oil and gas capital which repeatedly topped the rankings of Russian cities with high standards of living. The university trains specialists in 25 fields, from mechanical engineering to art studies.

When can prospective international students apply?

Foreign nationals can apply for degree programmes starting 17 June 2019. Foundation programmes applications are open all year round. Create a personal account to write to UTMN; International Office representatives will reply to you within ten days.

What documents do foreign nationals have to submit for undergraduate/graduate studies?

Foreign nationals have to submit the following documents to UTMN:

  1. Russian medium studies admission request;

  2. copy of passport;

  3. original education document;

  4. original transcript;

  5. negative HIV test certificate;

  6. four 3 x 4cm photos.

Documents issued in a foreign language are submitted together with notarised translation into Russian.

What programmes in English are available at UTMN?

UTMN offers seven undergraduate English-taught programmes and three graduate programmes. Two graduate programmes were launched in the 2018/2019 academic year: Media Communications, a joint project of the School of Advanced Studies and the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Plant Biosecurity, designed by the Institute of Environmental and Agricultural Biology (X-Bio).

Do I have to take an English examination for English medium programmes?

English medium programmes applicants have to take an online or face-to-face interview. An applicant can include English proficiency certificates in their portfolio.

Can I take entrance examinations online?

UTMN admissions can be based on the results of online entrance tests. A UTMN representative checks applicants’ ID online.

How much are tuition fees?

UTMN tuition fees range from 110,000 to 380,000 rubles ($1,692 to $5,846) a year. The average fee is 170,000 rubles ($2,615) a year.
