Experts rated three hundred universities from different countries.
Times Higher Education Magazine presented latest BRICS & Emerging Economies University Ranking. Compared to the 2015 ranking, nine more Russian institutions made it to the list; China and India also bolstered their presence, however, the rating itself became 100 ranks longer.The best result among Russian universities was traditionally shown by MSU (No.3), as usual. MIPT made an impressive jump from No.93 to No.12; TSU rose 27 ranks to No.60, MEPhI climbed from No.26 to No.19. ITMO and HSE debuted in the ranking at No.27 and 48, respectively.
SPbSU (30), NSU (38), TPU (56) and KFU (66) made it to the list of top 100 universities. SPbPU came out No.107, MISiS No.163. UrFU, RUDN University and Lobachevsky University made their debuts in the 201-250 group.
Experts rated universities on 13 criteria as they compiled BRICS & Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017. Academic reputation had the highest weight, followed by teaching and research performance, internationalization etc.
