Britain’s Times Higher Education magazine experts assessed universities across the world by the number of international students.
THE surveyed higher education centres with the largest number of foreign nationals in 29 countries. Russia was represented by five universities with People’s Friendship University (RUDN) in the lead. It is a multidisciplinary university established in 1960 to provide education to foreigners. RUDN is currently training students from 155 countries. As a rule, they take programmes in medicine, economics, international relations, law and philology. The top 200 included Russia’s National University of Science and Technology MISIS (162nd position), National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University (166th), National Research Tomsk State University (189th) and Lomonosov Moscow State University (195th).
Education in Russia gives many advantages; the opportunity to study together with students from other countries and learn about their culture and traditions is just one of them. On the plus side are a broad range of education programmes including English-taught ones, affordable tuition, easy adaptation for foreigners, and comfortable dormitories and campuses.
