Tryouts for two academic competitions will take place in December 2017.

Olympiad organisers include such Russian engineering universities as Samara University, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI”. The online round of Engineering Olympiad for Schoolchildren will run on 1-31 December. Russian-speaking schoolchildren in 9th-11th grades from any country are welcome. Complete registration on MEPhI and LETI websites to get access to the tests. The participants have three hours to solve the problems; only one attempt is allowed.

Olympiad Zvedza online tryouts will be held on 1-18 December; registration closing date is 30 November. The competition, open to Russian speaking schoolchildren in 6th-11th grades, will be held in nine subjects. MEPhI and LETI will only hold tryouts in Engineering and Technology while Samara University Olympiad covers Natural Sciences, Social Science, History and Engineering and Technology.

The final onsite rounds of the Olympiads will take place at the organiser universities and in Russian cities. Winners and awardees are entitled to admission preferences at Russian engineering universities.
