Yury Gazinsky opened the scoring in the match between Russia and Saudi Arabia.

2018 FIFA World Cup has started on 14 June. Russia was playing Saudi Arabia in the opening game in Moscow, at Luzhniki Stadium. 28-year-old footballer, graduate of Far Eastern Federal University Yury Gazinsky scored the first goal in the 12th minute of the game. Russian team won 5-0. Yury Gazinsky was born in 1989 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur (Khabarovsk Krai). He graduated with FEFU Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Training in 2011 and then continued his education at the university's Master School of Art, Culture and Sports. His field of study was “Adaptive physical culture.” He got his Master’s Degree in 2013. Now, Gazinsky is successful athlete, playing midfielder for Krasnodar football club. In 2018, he was included in Russian 2018 FIFA World Cup team.

A lot of attention is paid to sports at Far Eastern Federal University, and football in particular. Students who want to be successful in this sport have many opportunities.
