The Olympiad is held for students planning to enrol for Higher School of Economics master’s programmes. Undergraduate and specialist students of any university and holders of BA and specialist degrees are welcome; citizenship doesn’t matter. Academic competition 2018 will cover 33 tracks in engineering and humanities (mathematics, physics, civil engineering, global economy, linguistics, law etc). The tracks are divided into 66 specialisation areas; only one can be chosen. Solutions can be written in Russian.
To take part in the Olympiad, create a personal account at HSE website, choose the study track and specialisation; an applicant is assigned a registration number within 24 hours which completes the registration. The Olympiad is a one-round competition to be held in Russia, Latvia, Turkey, China, Mongolia and CIS countreis on 23-25 March; a complete list of venues and reference materials are available on the university website. Olympiad winners seeking to enrol for HSE graduate programmes are entitled to admission preferences. Higher School of Economics is one of the most modern universities in Russia and the country’s leader by the number of English-taught programmes. It currently provides training to nearly 1,700 international students.
