Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University: First Graduates of Pre-University Department for Foreigners

Over 30 students from Latin America, Middle East, Africa and Asia passed the examinations and received certificates.

Last year, IKBFU opened a pre-university department which offered international students courses in medicine, engineering, liberal arts and economics. The first group had nine-month training from October 2016 through July 2017. The programme included intensive Russian language study as well as general subjects: maths, computer science, literature, history etc. depending on the chosen field.

All the students passed the examinations. The certificates were awarded in a solemn ceremony at the graduation party. Students prepared an entertainment programme featuring national dances, songs and recitals.

Graduates plan to enrol in IKBFU degree programmes in Medical Care, Physics, Constructinon, Pedagogy, Political Science etc. IKBFU pre-university training department, popular with foreigners, has taken more than 80 applications from prospective students from Egypt, Algeria, China, Japan, Iraq, Iran, the Netherlands, USA and other countries this year.
