Around four hundred students of the Russian Language and Culture Center took part in the performance.

Young people from South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East came to study in Russia only a few months ago and still don’t know culture of our country well. FEFU stuff do everything to help international students to adapt to a new environment. In particular, tell about Russian traditions.

A festive evening was organized especially for them before the New Year night. At first students called for Ded Moroz and the Snow Maiden. They came with gifts and arranged merry performance. Guests of the festival were learning Russian songs, khorovod (circle dance), participate in contests and games. Students learned much about main Russian winter holiday and immersed in the New Year atmosphere.

Such events have already become traditional for the Far Eastern Federal University, in 2015, they were visited by about two hundred students, in 2016 this number was doubled. Overall, in 2016/2017 academic year more than three thousand students from fifty-two countries came to the FEFU.
