IThe project of Tomsk Polytechnic University and the Local History Museum for foreign students became the winner of the All-Russian competition

The Mikhail Prokhorov Charitable Foundation for Cultural Initiatives has summed up the results of the competition "The New Role of Libraries in Education." Tomsk project for foreign students - “Tomsk. A View from the Other Side of the Earth” has got a support from the Foundation. It will be implemented in partnership with the Tomsk Polytechnic University and the Tomsk Regional Museum of Local Lore.

At Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), specialists from three departments are working on this project - the Complex of Museums, the Scientific and Technical Library and the department for work with foreign students of TPU. The project starts from the beginning of the academic year - September 2021.

On the basis of TPU, groups of foreign students will be formed, for whom a program of socio-cultural, adaptation activities will be developed on the basis of the library and the Tomsk Local History Museum.

The program of activities will include guided tours, discussions and exhibitions. The organizers hope that the project will help foreign students quickly adapt to the new city and integrate into the cultural life of the university and Tomsk.
