Students enjoyed cross cultural experience.

National University of Science and Technology MISIS held a festival of cultures for the fifth time running. The participants represented 22 countries, including Bolivia, Ecuador, Angola, China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan etc. The show which gathered 2,000 guests overall began with a traditional University Square parade. Foreign nationals’ short acts under the flags of their countries were followed by the tasting of national dishes and songs and dances performed by students. At the close of the festival, students released white, blue and red balloons into the sky symbolizing the Russian tricolour. The organisers arranged a guess the country quiz on Vkontakte social media challenging the participants to name the country by its description. The winner was Kazakh student Laura Zhaksylykova.

National University of Science and Technology MISIS is a modern Russian education centre located in the capital. It provides training to more than 17,000 students; of those, 3,300 are foreigners representing 69 countries. The university offers a large variety of engineering programmes and takes high positions in world education rankings.
