National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University will run Winter School from 15 January till 2 February 2018. Prior to language study, students take a test to be divided into three groups according to proficiency level: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Classes are held Monday through Friday in the morning. An entertainment programme has been prepared for Winter School participants. It includes tours of Tomsk History Museum, Tomsk Slavic Mythology Museum, Puppet Theatre and other places of interest.
Skiing, skating, snowmobiling and even dog sledding are available; master classes in nesting doll (matryoshka) painting, Russian folk dances and archery are offered as well. Tuition fee for a three-week course is 28,000 rubles ($470). A certificate is awarded upon course completion; students are welcome to take the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL) to confirm their proficiency level.
