Russian Language Is Popular in the Far East
Every year, the Russian Language and Culture Center of the Far-Eastern Federal University (FEFU) accepts new students.
Young people study Russian to be able to enrol in the university’s preparatory department, and later – to continue their university education full time.
Irina Cherepovskaya (Director of the Center) comments: “These language courses enable the students to improve their Russian and to be able to study in the preparatory school with no difficulties”.
This year, the Center is expecting 182 students from Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe and South America. At present, there are 500 foreigners enrolled in the Center, while almost 2,500 international students from 47 countries are currently studying in FEFU. This number is growing every year.
