Samara University Launches Winter Schools
The university offers students humanitarian and engineering winter programmes.
Samara University will launch three winter schools for international students in February. The courses in High-Tech Management and Russian Culture are available from 3 February to 13 February and the robotics and mechatronics courses from 4 February to 14 February. The first two schools are open to all; the third is intended for engineering and math students. The winter school in management will be held for the sixth time. An intensive ten-day course will introduce students to the basics of high tech company management. By the end of the winter school, each participant will prepare their own innovative project and present it for review by professional jury.
The culture school is intended for those who seek deeper knowledge of Russian language and culture. Students can visit historical sites not only in Samara, but also in Moscow and St Petersburg. Tuition fee: $500. Tuition fee for the programme in robotics is $700. Students can use university labs, workshops and 3D printers to produce robot parts. A contest of artificial intelligences might be arranged at the close. A hands-on acquaintance with the Russian winter is part of the programme with a whole range of winter activities supported by frostproof volunteers, including skiing, tobogganing, skating, snowballing, hockey playing, making a snowman or just rolling in the snow to make your training merry and healthy.
