Students from Africa, Asia and Latin America came to the Russian city of Chelyabinsk for a short summer programme.
Classes are held at the Olymp sport camp which is part of the South Ural State University (SUSU) recreation complex. Students from Syria, Laos, Indonesia, Iraq, Venezuela, Columbia, Zimbabwe already know Russian a little and continue their language studies at the summer school attending daily interactive classes.
They communicate a lot with Russian-speaking students staying in the camp, as well as with volunteers from the SUSU Social and Cultural Adaptation Centre to improve their colloquial Russian and learn more about Russian culture and traditions.
Students enjoy active recreation and have fun in their spare time playing volleyball, badminton and frisbee, participating in sport competitions, taking dance lessons and joining various events and hobby groups. International students get certificates upon completion of SUSU summer school training.
