TPU has made an app for foreign applicants and students

The Russian Language Department of Tomsk Polytechnic University, supported by the Information Technologies Department of TPU, has developed PreTPU, an app for foreign applicants and students. In it, useful information about TPU, news and event announcements can be found.

The mobile application has been developed for the Android system and will soon be available for downloading on the Play Market platform. It was made for two groups of users - for applicants and students of TPU. The interface is available in Russian and English.

“In this application, we have collected and systematized useful information and news, which makes it easier to find and view what a foreign student needs,” - explains Evgenia Sherina, head of the Russian Language Department at TPU.

The app has several sections. Users who wish to study at TPU can learn about specialties and areas of training at all levels of education, what they need to do to enroll and how to arrive in Tomsk. Students have a quick access to the schedule, their personal account and contacts of the university’s employees. The service also provides basic information about the university and Tomsk.

In the future, it is planned to increase the number of languages and make the service multinational. Soon the developers will add information in Chinese.
