Application dates: from 2 October till 20 November 2017.
Olympiad organisers include Higher School of Economics, Ural Federal University and National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University. Participation is open to 7th-11th grade schoolchildren from Russia and former Soviet republics. Vysshaya Proba covers 22 subjects, such as Economics, Maths, Russian, Journalism, History etc. Financial Literacy and Basics of Business were added to the subjects list in 2017; however, only 9th-11th grade schoolers are eligible to compete in these fields. All participants can select several subjects while keeping in mind that different streams can allot same time for problem solving in the finals.
Olympiad try-outs will be held remotely from 25 November till 10 December 2017. Shortlisted candidates are expected to take part in the finals from 1 February till 7 February 2018. Higher School of Economics will post Olympiad results on its website in April. Winners and awardees will get an advantage enrolling at Russian universities or will be admitted without additional tests. It depends on the university.
