Advantages of studying in Russia for foreign nationals

Classes, teachers, accommodation – everything was well-thought and professionally organised

I had all the information before, and all the needed information was given to us before arriving, no additional info was needed. I didn’t have any difficulties in connection with my trip to Petrozavodsk. The trip went smoothly. I did not have any difficulties with adaptation in Petrozavodsk either. Everyone was very welcome and helpful. I think the organisation of the programme was excellent. Everyone who chooses to study here is in very good hands.

I enjoyed my Russian courses very much. Everything – the lessons, the professors, as well as accommodation – was well prepared and professional. In my opinion, it is the best programme I have taken part in so far. I wouldn’t change a thing. The cold weather and the cold classroom were the only drawbacks.

My family was very welcome and kind. It was good to have other Russian-speaking people, whom I was able to talk to and practice my skills. If I were to stay for longer than 7 weeks, I would have preferred a student home accommodation to be able to prepare meals myself and have better contact with other students.

I really liked the town of Petrozavodsk. I enjoyed the closeness to Lake Onega. I think Petrozavodsk has a perfect size. It is not too big or too small and Saint Petersburg is also close by.

The university is well organised. From what I have heard, it has a great reputation in people’s opinion – I can confirm that. I am really thankful to both of my teachers. They were really dedicated and involved and very kind! They tried to teach as much as possible. They responded to all our wishes concerning the content and motivated us!

Thanks to both of them! Especially to Lyudmila Lazarevna for her delicious baking! Everything was very well organised, and all our questions and requests were promptly answered. The International Office staff provided help when we needed; they were very dedicated to providing the best possible stay for us!

I really liked my staying in Petrozavodsk! That’s why I absolutely would like to return next semester. I liked the town, the kind, open-minded people, the lessons, as well as Karelian culture! It has been an amazing experience!
