I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University
The cost of medical education in Russia is lower than in my country
I’m 23 and I come from the city of Kuala Lumpur; the five members of my family are my mother, my father, my two siblings and I. I first heard about Sechenov University seven years ago; a relative of mine had studied there and told me about this opportunity. There are many Malaysian students at MSMU. The University meets high medical education standards for a relatively small pay; tuition fees here are lower than in my country.
Of course studying medicine is not easy, but no pain no gain. Sechenov University employs well-known professors. I liked the way they taught us and our putting the knowledge we gained into practice. We had good information support, all necessary guides and textbooks. Our training was in English, but if you wish to live here, you’d better start learning Russian, it helps foreigners during their adaptation in Russia.
What I would recommend to the guys planning to study in Russia? Be friends with Russian students, learn the Russian culture and language. Don’t limit yourself to classroom knowledge, always try to find out more and be open to new opportunities. I liked to study in Russia. It is a unique country; it differs from Malaysia. I can say that Russians are very caring, I learnt much about their culture and lifestyle and got a taste of exotic Russian cuisine. Russia will always be in my heart.
