It was wonderful to see all the services that MIPT has to offer

Having to come to another country from halfway across the world will always be difficult. Especially if it has a completely new language that you have never studied before. Once I touch downed at the airport, it felt like a new beginning. Choosing to come to MIPT over an American university was something that is rarely done. There are many choices to choose from but there is something that is incredibly unique about coming to MIPT. What I quickly noticed about studying here is that you are really the part of the studying process and there is so much to learn!

Even in my first year at MIPT, we covered a lot of material with amazing textbooks in both Russian and English. It was wonderful to see all the services that MIPT has to offer. Something that you will notice very quickly will be how diverse the university is. A lot of international students have begun to arrive from many countries and each one of them have a unique story of why they chose to come to MIPT. You will be able to make a lot of friends here, especially at the dormitory, and you will be able to help each other with the course materials and that will always come in handy.

Learning the Russian program was something that I am extremely glad that I am doing now. I was excited to study this language, being vastly different than English or Spanish, and once I got to study it during the preparatory program, everyday I was excited to get started. The professors here at MIPT are wonderful and they genuinely want to help you learn. I had very wonderful professors that provided support each step on the way for me to be able to speak Russian. Now whenever I go to the store or I go and hangout with my Russian friends, I feel confident with my Russian because now I understand a lot more and I will continue to practice and improve my Russian.

Experiencing the seasons here in Moscow has been amazing. I am from Los Angeles so we do not get cold weather much but when the snow started to fall in the autumn, it is truly a magical event and being able to experience the true Russian winter is something you will need to experience because I fell in love with it.

The university is still growing and each year they want to attract more international students with much more opportunities that this university has to offer. I am planning to also study here my master’s degree and I can not wait for that.

I am extremely glad that I was able to enter MIPT because I believe that attending here will give me the best chance possible in order to accomplish what I set out to be in this world.
