Legal Studies (Economics and Law)

The main objective of this program is to train lawyers-economists specializing in commercial law.

For many lawyers their professional activity is impossible without the knowledge of economy: lawyers work in business, arbitration and investigate economic crimes. Such experts are in demand in the legal departments of large companies; their work is also necessary for the legal system of the state to function properly. At the department the legal disciplines are taught by practicing prosecutors, judges and lawyers. The faculty is also represented by a group of academic lawyers, but relying on the leading practitioners in the field remains one of the department’s priorities.

The combination of legal and economic education is highly valued in Western countries, and successful careers of the department’s graduates confirms their competitive advantage in making a career in law in Russia.
