    • the study of the interconnections and patterns of this field of science;
    • creation of new and improvement of the existing technological processes of treatment and related equipment, units, mechanisms and other technical means ensuring high competitiveness due to the quality of the formed parts, low cost, increased productivity, reliability, safety, environmental friendliness;
    • development of the theory of technological support and improving the quality of engineering products with the lowest cost of their manufacture.

    • the scope of professional activity of a graduate is the theory and practice of design, installation and operation of machine tools and systems using information technology;
    • theoretical foundations, modelling and methods of experimental research of mechanical and physical-technical processing;
    • the study of mechanical and physical-technical processes in order to determine the parameters that ensure the performance of specified technological operations and improvement of the treatment efficiency;
    • creation and research of technical and cost-effective treatment processes;
    • new technological processes of mechanical and physical-technical processing and their implementation;
    • technological processes to improve the quality of products and reduce their cost;
    • mathematical modelling of technological processes for the manufacture of parts and assembly of products;
    • problems of process control in mechanical engineering.
