This program is a cross between pedagogy, linguistics and information technologies. It will interest both students with a technological education and an education in humanities. After completing this course, you will become a modern English teacher with a proficiency in the latest ESL teaching technologies, including information and communication technologies. You will also be able to seek international partnerships in the educational field, as well as implement projects aimed at the international computer industry and IT clusters. You will gain systematic and in-depth knowledge of the theory of teaching foreign languages, pedagogical research methods, psychology of professional education, innovative processes in education, as well as ways to introduce cross-cultural computer games in foreign language classes. You will learn how to translate texts from English to Russian and vice versa, including translating foreign and Russian computer games, namely, the dialogue, tutorials and hints, keywords etc. You will also learn the special terminology of such sub-languages as "Information Technology", "Computing", "Game Design". You will acquire basic skills in programming, drawing up technical tasks, learn about various game genres and the principles of creating various games (such as action games, strategies, quests, sports games, simulators and puzzles, communication, educational and role-playing games). You will also be able to take part in workshops dedicated to creating game characters and sketches of future video games. A high level of theoretical and practical training contributes to social mobility, high competitiveness and stability of our graduates in the labor market not only at the regional and federal, but also at the international level.
