The purpose of the educational program "History of Philosophy" is to acquire the level of competencies necessary for the implementation of professional activities and preparation for the defense of a scientific qualification work (dissertation) for the degree of candidate of sciences.

The objectives of the educational program correspond to the formation of basic philosophical competencies, which consist in the ability to implement the methodological function of interdisciplinary synthesis in complex scientific research and development; the use of professional knowledge to analyze the interaction of cultures of the East and West; the ability to use historical and philosophical problems as a methodology of socio-humanitarian sciences.

For the implementation of the tasks set within the profile "History of Philosophy", training is provided in the following disciplines: "Social Philosophy", "Philosophy of Politics", "Methodology of Social and Humanitarian Research", "Rhetoric", "Philosophical Hermeneutics", "Modern Oriental Philosophy".

The study of these disciplines makes it possible to acquaint graduate students with current concepts in the field of social and philosophical knowledge; develop analytical skills in applying these concepts when working with sources; study the historically formed and modern philosophical concepts of society; to form basic ideas about the scientific culture of thinking in general and the specifics of its socio-humanitarian branch; to deepen the professional general language, scientific and communication training of students;

to form ideas about the specifics of modern Eastern philosophy and the skills of analyzing its theoretical problems; master the theory and methodologies of philosophical hermeneutics as one of the modern directions in the study of socio-cultural processes.

The format of free discussion of topical issues of modern philosophy, active involvement of graduate students in the real scientific agenda, joint work on scientific projects will contribute to the development of a whole set of skills in scientific professional philosophical activity: interpretation of philosophical problems; mastering the theory and methodologies of social philosophy as a field of scientific knowledge.
In the process of teaching graduate students, the significance of the socio-philosophical formulation of problems for understanding the modern social situation in the world will be revealed, the methodological, integrative, interdisciplinary, heuristic role of social philosophy for scientific, theoretical and empirical social cognition, for the design, forecasting and staging of social processes will be revealed. For this, students will have to study the basic principles and modern problems of social philosophy; to study the influence of social philosophy on socio-humanitarian knowledge; develop the skill of concept analytics using a socio-philosophical approach.

In the course of training, graduate students will have to devote a lot of time to independent study of the material in these disciplines and, in the classroom with teachers, to show the main achievements in the field of philosophical knowledge in terms of their practical significance.

In the process of working on a dissertation research, graduate students must form the skills of conducting theoretical research using specific methods of the humanities.

The most important place in the structure of training in this profile is occupied by policy issues. The goal is to form the scientific and theoretical foundations of the reflection of the world of politics, multidimensional perception of the methodological foundations of the political world, based on specific classical texts, acting as a case study.

As a result, students, based on knowledge of the key concepts of the philosophy of politics, will get an idea of ​​the ideological basis of a particular political system and will be able to explain its place in the modern world of real politics; having formed the skill of philosophical and political analysis, they will be able to act as experts in the future.

Philosophical training takes into account the regional aspect of education and allows you to get an idea of ​​the place of modern Eastern philosophy in; show the key problems of modern oriental philosophy in comparison with the philosophy of the European type.

As part of the assimilation of the basic model of humanitarian knowledge, an in-depth study of hermeneutic methodology will be carried out. This will require graduate students to study the basic principles and contemporary issues in the field of philosophical hermeneutics; to study the influence of hermeneutics on socio-humanitarian knowledge; develop the skill of analyzing concepts using the hermeneutic method.

This specialty trains personnel for scientific and pedagogical activities. Education is carried out by highly qualified teachers, doctors of philosophical sciences (F. Ye. Azhimov, S. Ye. Yachin, L. I. Kirsanova, T. G. Shchedrina, O. L. Granovskaya).
