The program is focused on R&D in the application of magnetic nanomaterials for diagnostics and treatment of cancer and other socially significant diseases (MRI diagnostics, targeted drug delivery, magnetic hyperthermia etc.). Master's students carry out their research at the departmental laboratories, at the Faculty of Chemistry of Moscow State University (MSU), and in the Biomedical Nanomaterials Laboratory created in 2014 under the Competitiveness Enhancement Program of the National University of Science and Technology MISiS. The laboratory research team develops unique materials used for manufacturing effective medicines for liver and prostate cancer treatment. These materials will allow to deliver drugs directly to cancer cells, thus making it unnecessary to expose the entire body to radiation.
