The program is intended for a comprehensive study of the theoretical basics of ferrous metal derivation. Master's degree students explore one of the following three areas: raw material preparation for metallurgic refining; cast iron production, or direct ore reduction methods in metallurgy. For R&D purposes they use the equipment in the department labs and the Innovation Metallurgical Technology Research and Education Center. State-of-the-art equipment is used to determine the material physical and chemical properties.
