Ural Federal University (UrFU) is one of the leading and largest universities in Russia, founded in 1920. UrFU is a universal university that offers programs in engineering, humanities and natural sciences in Russian and English at all levels of study (bachelor's, master's, postgraduate, postdoc programs). UrFU ranks 516th in the world in the QS World University Rankings, and ARWU ranks in the top 4-7 in Russia.
UrFU is located in the beautiful and safe city of Yekaterinburg, the third capital of Russia, in the heart of the country. UrFU is an international university with 45,000+ students and about 4,600 international students from 100 countries. Scientific infrastructure
The UrFU research complex includes 164 laboratories, dozens of research centers, innovative infrastructure, a scientific library (with a collection of over 3 million publications), several museums, a botanical garden and an astronomical observatory. There are also international laboratories.
Dormitories in the city center
UrFU has 17 student dormitories in the city center with more than 12,000 beds. Most of the dormitories are located within walking distance from the academic buildings. The dormitories have all the necessary conditions for a comfortable life: kitchens, showers, laundries, study rooms, gyms, cafes.
Chemical & Pharmaceutical
The Scientific, educational and Innovation Center provides a unique fundamental and applied education in the field of chemistry, chemical technology, biotechnology and related fields. The Center participates in the commercialization of high-tech products developed at its site.
A new world-class campus
A multidisciplinary student city, opened in 2023 under the federal program "World-class Campuses". The advanced educational environment includes 5 dormitories, public and medical centers, a stadium, and a water sports palace. By the end of 2025, 3 academic buildings will be opened.
