About organization
National Research Nuclear University MEPhI is Russia's leading technical university with a variety of profiles. It's one of the world's best centers of nuclear science and education. From its earliest days, MEPhI has become a center for the development of advanced scientific and technical thought. We train highly qualified specialists for strategically important sectors of the national economy, including the nuclear industry. In addition to its contribution to nuclear areas, the University played a decisive role in the formation of laser science and technology as well as in the development of cybernetics. MEPhI was the first Russian university to actively participate in international scientific collaborations with CERN.

University infrastructure
MEPhI Territory
The MEPhI territory is not only home to academic buildings and laboratories but also features a large picturesque area, making it a wonderful place for walks and leisure. Here students can find shadowy alleys, intricately designed benches, and scenic spots. Much of this has been created by students
Volga Recreation Center
The recreation center is located in an eco-area in the Tver Region on the picturesque shore of the Vidogoshchinsky Bay on the left bank of the Volga River. The recreation center provides everything for active leisure and sports activities. All students have a discount for staying at the recreation
Meals
There are canteens, buffets, and cafes on university’s grounds. Vending machines are installed in its buildings. Two canteens are located on the first floor, ensuring wheelchair access. Buffets operate in the university’s dormitories.
Student Office
The Student Office was created in collaboration with the State Corporation “Rosatom.” This space is both a co-working area and a multifunctional center that provides students with various electronic services: information on studies, scholarships, dormitories, and more.
Sports
The MEPhI Physical Education Department offers classes in various sports, including sambo, basketball, rugby, volleyball, fitness aerobics, gymnastics, chess, swimming, table tennis, badminton, hand-to-hand combat, hockey, mountaineering, climbing, and many more.
Dormitories
MEPhI has three types of dormitories: corridor, block, and apartment types. Students are accommodated in different buildings, all within 7-10 minutes’ walk from the university buildings. All buildings are equipped with security, libraries, and canteens.
