Russia and Venezuela sign a cooperation agreement in science and technology
The signing ceremony occurred in Caracas during the meeting of the Russian-Venezuelan High-Level Intergovernmental Commission, which included Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
The agreement was signed between the Government of Russia and the Government of Venezuela. The document will facilitate the development and strengthening of ties between the scientific and educational organizations of the two countries.
“The interaction between Russia and Venezuela is increasing. This is demonstrated by the growing number of bilateral contacts and mutual support as we face Western pressures on our countries,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
During the Commission meeting, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science delegation held a working meeting with Venezuela's Minister of Higher Education Ricardo Sanchez. The parties discussed the education of Venezuelan students in Russia and the development of direct links between universities, agreeing to maintain their working contacts.
