About the training program

The Bachelor's degree program “Reconstruction and Restoration of Architectural Heritage” trains specialists in the preservation and adaptation of cultural heritage sites. The program combines architectural design, historical and cultural research, and restoration technologies. Students study: the history of architecture and urban planning; the styles and typology of monuments; regulations and methods for protecting cultural heritage sites; methods of on-site surveys, measurements, photographic documentation, and structural condition assessment; traditional and modern restoration materials and technologies; principles for adapting historic buildings for contemporary use; and professional software.

What will they teach you?

Разбираться в истории архитектуры и стилях — изучать эволюцию форм, типологию памятников, особенности разных эпох и школ, чтобы корректно определять ценность и аутентичность элементов.
Проводить натурные исследования — выполнять обмеры, фотофиксацию, зарисовки, выявлять дефекты и степень износа конструкций, фиксировать текущее состояние объекта.
Работать с архивными и историческими материалами — анализировать чертежи, планы, старые фотографии, документы для восстановления первоначального облика здания.
Освоить нормативную базу по охране наследия — ориентироваться в законах и регламентах, понимать порядок согласований и требования к работам на объектах культурного наследия.
Проектировать реставрацию и приспособление — разрабатывать эскизы и проектные решения, адаптировать исторические здания под современное использование без утраты их ценности.
Использовать профессиональные программы — работать в CAD, BIM, 3D моделировании, готовить чертежи, визуализации и проектную документацию.
Применять реставрационные технологии — подбирать материалы и методы, соответствующие историческим аналогам, учитывать совместимость старых и новых материалов.

What do graduates do?

Graduates of the program are prepared to work in the preservation of cities’ architectural heritage and the historical appearance of buildings using modern technologies. They may pursue careers as: Architectural conservation architects — design the restoration and adaptation of heritage sites for contemporary use and prepare project documentation. Conservators (in workshops) — carry out restoration work on façades, stucco, woodwork, and other elements. Specialists in heritage protection authorities (KGIOP, departments for the protection of cultural heritage sites) — coordinate project approvals, monitor the preservation of heritage sites, and participate in expert assessments.
