About the University
Dagestan State University (DSU) is the oldest and largest university in the Republic of Dagestan, a major educational, scientific, and cultural center. It was founded in 1931. Training is conducted in various areas of study: natural sciences, humanities, economics, technical specialties and directions. The university includes 2 institutes, 17 faculties, 97 departments, 4 branches, 2 museums (biological and historical), a fundamental library, a biological station, and a planetarium. The scientific and innovative complex includes 6 research institutes, 16 scientific and educational centers, the "Photon" technopark, and an innovation and technology center. The university structure also includes socio-cultural facilities: a sanatorium-preventorium, a Palace of Sports, a scientific library, a sports and health camp, and a football field. The promotion of a healthy lifestyle is actively supported, students participate in various sports sections, contests, and competitions.
