About the training program
The direction provides fundamental training of highly qualified personnel in the field of research, development, production, and application of devices and systems based on the use of optical radiation, modern computer, optical-laser, and quantum information technologies, optical-fiber communication, and created using a modern element base based on integrated and fiber optics, semiconductor, fiber, and planar lasers, nanoscale, and photonic crystal structures. Optical and laser systems and their application in scientific research, industry, medicine, ecology, hydro- and aerodynamics, and space are studied.
What do graduates do?
Graduates of the educational program are in demand at research institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Institute of Automation and Electrometry, Design and Technological Institute of Scientific Instrumentation, Institute of Nuclear Physics, Institute of Semiconductor Physics, Institute of Thermal Physics, Institute of Laser Physics, Institute of Organic Chemistry, etc.), applied industry research institutes (Siberian Research Institute of Optical Systems, TsKB "Tochpribor"), leading industrial enterprises developing high-tech technologies (Novosibirsk Instrument-Making Plant, etc.), and small innovative enterprises of the Technopark of the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok (Akadempark).
