About the University
VolgGMU is one of Russia’s largest medical universities, founded in 1935. We rank 2nd in the country by the number of international students: more than 3,000 students from 61 countries are currently studying with us. Over 60+ years, we have trained more than 5,000 doctors who work in 127 countries.

VolgSMU has 8 academic buildings with classrooms, laboratories, and computer rooms. The university comprises modern academic facilities equipped with lecture halls, specialized classrooms, and laboratories for classes and lectures in medical disciplines.
Science Library
Students have access to a research library with an extensive collection of educational, methodological, and academic literature, as well as electronic educational resources and databases. It is one of the largest university libraries in the Southern Federal District, with ~900,000 publications, including rare books.
Laboratories and equipment
VolgSMU has modern facilities and equipment for its educational programs. Simulation classrooms and training simulators are actively used in the educational process, enabling students to develop professional skills in conditions close to real clinical practice.
