About the training program
In the process of studying in this specialty, students become deeply familiar with the fundamental foundations of Earth sciences, study in detail the geology of mineral deposits, the conditions of their formation and placement in the Earth's crust, the composition and methods of diagnosing natural types of ores. Students master the methods of studying minerals, rocks, and ores in theory and practice. Programs of academic disciplines provide training of highly qualified specialists in many areas of applied geology.
What do graduates do?
Specialists participate in expeditionary geological exploration and scientific research works, conduct monitoring of deposit development, field geological and geophysical research, perform geological justification of deposit development, evaluate resources and reserves of hydrocarbon raw materials. Graduates can work both in geological exploration organizations or geological scientific institutes, and at mining enterprises, including abroad. Initial positions: geological engineer, site geologist, mineralogist, researcher, expert gemologist, etc.
