About the training program

The program is aimed at training bachelors to work in the field of experimental physics. Students will master the techniques of physical experimentation, data acquisition and processing systems, learn to build mathematical models for research in particle physics, atomic nuclei and cosmophysics. The goal of the program is to train personnel to participate in major projects and experiments. Among the research areas are high energy physics and neutrino oscillation research, gas pedal experiments on hot and superdense nuclear matter, and satellite experiments

What you will learn

  • Experimental methods of nuclear physics
  • Statistical phenomena in radiation detectors
  • Personal computers in measurement systems
  • Basics of data processing and modeling packages
  • LINUX data processing and modeling
  • Methodology of measurement results processing
  • Monte Carlo method
  • Sources of nuclear radiation
  • Interaction of radiation with matter
  • Introduction to methods for researching and modeling interactions

What do graduates do for a living?

Graduates will be able to both design experimental setups and analyze theoretical hypotheses and interpretation of experiments. There are also works in the field of nuclear electronics, computer modeling of experiments, cosmophysics and other problems. Internship students are actively involved in all of the above work. Internship and employment are offered in such organizations as Kurchatov Institute, IKI, ITEF, IFVE, FIAN.
