About the training program
"Geological, ecological and hydrometeorological studies of the environment":The significant complication of engineering tasks, a sharp increase in the scale and intensity of interaction between society and the environment, increases the need for highly qualified personnel in the field of engineering surveys and subsoil use. Graduates should not only have the skills to study rocks as the foundations of buildings and structures, but also to justify their rational placement; also to carry out mining taking into account all natural factors in order to minimize negative man-made impacts.
What you will learn
- Technical regulations of engineering-geological and engineering-ecological surveys
- Groundwater monitoring
- Environmental assessment and zoning of the territory
- Geological studies of dangerous exogenous processes and phenomena
- Engineering-geological and hydrogeological research in urban planning
- Methods of exploration of the geological environment and subsurface
- Modern problems of Large marine ecosystems
- Biological methods of environmental quality assessment
What do graduates do for a living?
Environmental geology is a broad field that includes such things as site assessment, site remediation, groundwater geology, surface water hydrology, and ensuring that various organizations comply with the relevant environmental regulations. A geology degree sets you up for a career within the energy, environmental or engineering sectors and related work experience can help to give you the edge when job hunting. Graduates are in demand on the labor market in the construction, an integral part of which is engineering surveys exploring the geological and natural conditions of the territory.
