About the University
Plekhanov Russian University of Economics was founded in 1907. The university is historically associated with the development of the national economy and the formation of the domestic economic school. Today, REU is a large multi-level educational complex with programs ranging from secondary education to postgraduate studies, a network of 16 branches, and modern international partnerships. Tens of thousands of students study at the university, and there are secondary vocational education, bachelor's, master's, postgraduate, and international double and triple diploma programs. REU actively develops scientific research, cooperates with business and government agencies, is included in international QS rankings, and participates in global accreditations ECBE, AMBA, CIM, CIMA, and EOQ. The university's mission is to promote sustainable socio-economic development of Russia through the training of in-demand specialists and the creation of intellectual capital.

University campus
The Plekhanov Russian University of Economics campus comprises nine university buildings, including two historic buildings constructed in the early 20th century that are architectural monuments, as well as modern facilities. A source of pride for Plekhanovka is the A.S. Vishnyakov Building of Digital and Information Technologies, opened in 2024.
REU Volunteer Center
The Volunteer Center of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics has twice been recognized as Russia’s best Volunteer Center. The «Dobro.Center» franchise has been successfully integrated.
The Center serves as the regional operator for major events such as the «Games of the Future 2024», the «World Friendship Games-2025», and the «International Youth Festival-2026».
Scientific infrastructure
The University has developed and successfully operates a number of research schools and centers, whose staff are actively involved in addressing fundamental and applied issues related to Russia’s socio-economic, scientific and technological development.
Sports Club
The sports center has everything students need to improve their physical fitness: a fitness room, martial arts hall, gym, 25-meter swimming pool, and general physical training hall.

The NIBC named after Academician L.I. Abalkin is not merely a university library, but a modern center of science and education, a center for the dissemination of knowledge, culture, and spiritual and intellectual heritage—a center that brings together the works of great scholars and all the best achievements of the past and present.
