About the University
Chelyabinsk State University is a modern classical university, offering classical education in in-demand specialties and new standards. Today, almost 17,000 students study here, including more than 2,500 foreign students. Branches successfully operate in Miass, Troitsk, and Kostanay (Republic of Kazakhstan). Opened 49 years ago, the university has accumulated authority and scientific potential, gained international recognition, and created traditions that are supported by more than one generation of graduates. Today, Chelyabinsk State University is a member of the Eurasian Association of Universities and the Association of Classical Universities of Russia. The history of the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of Chelyabinsk State University is closely connected with the history of the university. Already in 1977, within the framework of the archaeological practice of students, the first field season of the Chelyabinsk State University archaeological expedition took place, a laboratory was established, conservation, study, and storage of archaeological items took place

Botanical Garden of ChelGU
The Botanical Garden of Chelyabinsk State University is the only scientific center in the Chelyabinsk region that conducts research on current problems of introduction, studies the flora of the Southern Urals, and issues of preserving biological diversity, including rare and endangered species. The Botanical Garden was founded in 1999.
