About the training program
The graduate program prepares researchers and teachers of higher education in the field of folklore studies. You will study the methodology of philological research, the history of the formation and development of folklore studies as a scientific discipline, key theoretical concepts and methods of analyzing the poetics of oral folk art. Special attention is paid to working with archival and field materials, comprehensive study of genre systems, semantics, and pragmatics of folklore texts in their historical and cultural context. Graduates of the program study the history and theory of folkloristics, conduct scientific research and teaching activities in universities, academic institutes, museums, and archives.
