About the University
Siberian State Industrial University (SibGIU) in Novokuznetsk is the largest flagship university in Kuzbass and the flagship of engineering education for the mining and metallurgical complex of Siberia. Founded in 1930 as the Siberian Metallurgical Institute (the famous "Siberian Polytechnic"), the university trains highly qualified engineers in key areas for the region: metallurgy, mining, engineering, automation, energy, construction, and industrial economics. SibGU actively conducts applied scientific research and closely cooperates with leading enterprises in Kuzbass, providing practice-oriented training. The university is a key supplier of engineering personnel and a center of technological development for the industry of Kuzbass and Siberia.

A security system has been created at the university to ensure comprehensive security. At the entrances of all educational buildings and dormitories, duty posts of a private security company have been set up. All entrances and entrances are equipped with video surveillance cameras, and a security alarm system has been installed.
