About the University
Today, PGU is a major scientific and educational center preparing specialists for high-tech sectors of the economy. The university has preserved the best traditions of the Soviet engineering school while developing modern areas of training. The university has a developed material and technical base with modern laboratories and research centers. The main buildings form an entire student quarter in the center of Penza on Krasnaya Street, 40. Mission "Preserving Traditions – Creating the Future!": This motto reflects the university's strategy, which combines time-tested educational methods and the introduction of the most modern technologies into the educational process and scientific research. Infrastructure: general
The university campus includes 18 academic buildings, which house lecture halls, classrooms for practical classes, laboratories, 3 auditoriums, 4 conference halls, and student spaces.
Botanical Garden
The Botanical Garden named after I.I. Sprygin is one of the oldest in the country, covering 4 collection funds. The garden conducts scientific research and educational-methodological activities together with university departments.
food points
The university has 3 canteens, buffets in most buildings. Within walking distance from the campus are grocery and hardware stores (including those operating around the clock), cafes, and fast food chains.
clinical medical center
The center conducts outpatient consultations with doctors of various specialties, and one can undergo laboratory tests, ultrasound diagnostics, ECG, fluorography, and X-ray examinations.
sports environment
The area of covered sports facilities is about 11 thousand sq. m. and includes 3 sports halls, a swimming pool, a ski base, an open stadium, and a suburban sports and health camp.
Science Library
Currently, the library is the largest university library in the region with an extensive book collection and comfortable reading rooms.
